Plans to discuss Chinese relations.
On Monday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin arrived in Tokyo to meet with Japanese officials to discuss the nation’s partnership with Indo-Pacific nations and future relations with China. A statement released by the two secretaries said, “The United States is now making a big push to revitalize our ties with friends and partners — both in one-to-one relationships and in multilateral institutions — and to recommit to our shared goals, values, and responsibilities.”
Over the next four days, the leaders will also discuss important national security issues including climate change, COVID-19 response, and the nuclear threat of North Korea. On Thursday, both men will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Suga who is expected to meet with President Biden in April in Washington, D.C.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For safe travel for Secretaries Blinken and Austin over the coming days.
- That God would give the president and his administration wisdom on how to handle Chinese relations.
- For the Lord to guide the Biden administration on how best to strengthen ties with the nation’s allies.
